Born and raised in Cao Bang, Ly co-founded the first small homestay with her husband, Loc, in 2015. At a time when English-language travel support in the province was still limited, the English she had taught herself helped her welcome international guests, understand their needs and introduce her home province in a more accessible way.
Today, as Founder and Director of Cao Bang Eco Travel, Ly leads the company’s strategy, international relations and approach to guest experience. She guides how the team communicates with travellers and how the different services within the ecosystem work together to make each Cao Bang journey easier to organise.
Her work has helped develop the original homestay into a licensed local tour operator at the centre of an all-in-one ecosystem connecting accommodation, motorbike rentals, guided tours, dining and camping.

The local knowledge behind every journey
Born and raised in Cao Bang, Loc co-founded the original homestay with his wife, Ly, in 2015. His understanding of the province’s mountain roads, landscapes, communities and local customs helped the couple support their first international guests as they explored the region.
Today, Loc oversees route planning, fleet management and day-to-day operational coordination across Cao Bang Eco Travel’s tours, motorbike rentals, camping experiences and accommodation network. His role is to connect these services so that travellers receive consistent support throughout their journey.
The motorbike fleet he helps manage now includes more than 200 vehicles. Every motorbike currently in service dates from 2024 or later, and each is used for no more than two years under the company’s replacement policy. Tour groups are also limited to a maximum of eight travellers, allowing the local team to provide closer support on Cao Bang’s mountain roads.

As Guide Manager, Thao coordinates Cao Bang Eco Travel’s local guide team and personally leads journeys to Ban Gioc Waterfall, Angel Eye Mountain and ethnic villages across the province.
Her role is to help each guide understand the itinerary, the needs of the group and the local context of every place visited. When accompanying travellers, she introduces the landscapes and everyday life of Cao Bang through stories grounded in local culture, customs and community knowledge.
Like the other members of our full-time local team, Thao has worked hard to develop her English so that she can communicate directly with international visitors and help them experience Cao Bang through the perspective of someone who calls the province home.

Minh is a member of Cao Bang Eco Travel’s full-time local guide team. Drawing on his knowledge of the province’s mountain roads and rural landscapes, he guides small groups along motorbike routes and to waterfalls across Cao Bang.
Having learned English to communicate directly with international visitors, Minh helps travellers understand the places they visit through local stories and practical knowledge of the region.
